I draw digitally on Procreate and Photoshop as it allows me to mash together hand drawings, stills, and 3d objects, while having the efficiency and pace I need when meeting a deadline. I started with Procreate as it provides the ability to use layers and effects while still giving the personal, hands-on feeling of drawing in pencil but have almost moved my entire workflow to Photoshop because of it's powerful toolset. One thing that my work in 3D has given my 2D creations is the ability to explore camera positioning and framing. It’s funny because sometimes I feel like I start some of my two-dimensional creations in 3D but I also start some of my 3D creations in 2D as I can more easily explore mood, lighting, and composition in 2D before I start modeling.
Jurassic Pike Teaser (2023) - a short teaser I created for a promotion video for a party at my fraternity. In the theme of Jurassic Pike, the video shows a velociraptor being delivered at our house in preparation for the party. I composited the hand-animated dinosaur and truck with rain into live plates that I recorded of the house. (Blender, After Effects, Davinci Resolve/Fusion)
Cybertruck Short WIP (2022) - a short film I created in Blender to experiment with the newly launched Cybertruck. The environment was a combination of kitbashed 3d models and photoscans, and the cars were fully dynamically rigged in Blender. (Blender, Davinci Resolve)
Cybertruck Crash Clip (2022) - Just to test the capabilities of Unreal Engine, I created this short clip using the same Cybertruck rig in the Matrix City. (Unreal Engine, Davinci Resolve)
Meta Human (2021) - an exploration of Unreal Engine’s Metahumans. I referenced an interview with Jennifer Lawrence and hand animated the facial animation based on her performance. (Unreal Engine, Meta Humans, Davinci Resolve)
Jail by Kanye Concept (2021) - an unofficial visualizer for Jail - Kanye West. While listening to the album on repeat, this concept came to mind and I thought it would be a good project to learn more about Cinema4d. (Cinema4d, Marvelous Designer, Mixamo, Davinci Resolve)
Nebula Fly-through (2021) - a 3d visualizer for All Things $ Can Do - Cheat Codes (feat. Travis Barker & Tove Styrke). Taking cues from their style-guide, I created a surreal space environment inside a procedural nebula. I used motion capture data and combined numerous models to create the astronauts and the rocket-hearse. (Embergen, Mixamo, Blender, Davinci Resolve)
Glowy Dance (2021) - an early draft of an animation for Cheat Codes. Using a particle system and hair dynamics, I scattered flowers on a motion capture driven character and physically simulated the plant's movement. (Blender, Mixamo, Davinci Resolve)
Flower Dance (2021) - a 3d social media asset and visualizer for Cheat Codes. Adding a motion controlled camera to the scene, I was able to create a dynamic looping animation. This was used for Spotify Canvas and plays in the background of the album. (Blender, Mixamo, Davinci Resolve)
Letterman Flip (2020) - a 3d social media asset for my clothing brand. After I designed the jacket, I wanted to figure out a creative way to draw attention to it. I used motion capture data and cloth simulations to create this surreal animation. (Clo3d, Maya, Mixamo, Davinci Resolve)
If I Designed... (2020) - a social media showcase of 3d cloth simulation and animation. As a new take on a Tiktok trend, "what I'd wear front row at fashion shows," I created outfits for different fashion houses. (Clo3d, Blender, Mixamo, Davinci Resolve)
The Delivery (2019) - a short teaser about an Amazon delivery robot. I filmed and tracked various shots around my neighborhood and composited the truck and robot with realistic reflections and shadows. I fully rigged the truck and animated the robot with references of a cheetah's sprinting cycle. (Blender, Davinci Resolve)
At my kindergarten graduation, when our names were called, we were to stand in front of the world and declare who we wanted to be when we grew up. “How would we know?” the kids asked. Of course, truly, how would any six-year-old know what they wanted to do when they grew up? I did.
